I've heard about the new club -- and tried to send email to that email address and didn't get any responses..

I'm the moderator of the SFBay Girls Who Wanna Meet girls and I was interested in plugging that club and wanted her permission before doing it...

but I'm excited about the news -- being that I live in East Bay... :-)

I've heard that there was a $10 cover charge that was not mentioned in any of the ads. It's something worth considering when prepping your wallet for an evening there. It's a nice place, from what my friend said. They don't have a full liquor licence yet, so it's just beer and wine, but my friend said the Sangria was very tasty.

Several of my friends went there and found that there was a two hour wait to get in and the line was very long -- so they ended up at the White Horse...

Looked like a lot of gals went to the White Horse instead as well due to the crowds...

I'll probably check it out in mid april and make it as part of my tribe outing

I'm the moderator of the SFBay Girls Who Wanna Meet Girls tribe.. :)

      there was a $10 cover charge?...umm..

Obviuosly, there is a need in the BEAST for this kinda club. I used to tend at the nearest "nice" bar to Mills and have always wondered, " why do y'all's all gotta go to the City?"

( p.s., whatever to the "Festival of the Babes"? )

sometimes there's a good crowd at the White Horse -- people forget it's there..and that's in oakland/berkeley border.

but yeah..it's nice to be able to go someplace where there's actual parking...

Ya, I went with friends last Friday night and there was a $10 cover charge, even though more than 2 of my friends who went were told the week before that there would only be a cover for the opening night. Now we were told that there is only a cover for Friday and Saturday night because there is a DJ. I didn't really think it was worth a $10 cover cause most queer spots with covers that high provide something special for it, like food or a free drink ticket or a show, none of which was available. This is just me, but I think $5 is more reasonable and more in parr with what other clubs charge.

It's a nice enough place and once they get this stuff with the police worked out I look forward to going on a not Friday or Saturday night when they have the pool table out and it's just a chill queer place to hang out.

Someone at Velvet told me that there is also a very queer-friendly cafe nearby on MacArthur, owned by a gay man. Does anybody know the name of this place and where it is? I forgot where the person said it was other than on MacArthur in the same neighborhood.

        Thanks
